Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American actress and singer. Her parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier who are both news director on television. Her family was from Huntington Woods Michigan. Kristen was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan with the family of a Polish mother and father who was German, English Irish, Scottish and Irish. Kristen discovered a passion in the performing arts from a young stage. In 1992, she was awarded her first role at an audition for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell received an agent who was appointed by her mother at the age of 13 and was cast as a model on advertisements on television and newspapers. In addition, she is beginning individual acting classes. Bell was credited with a minor role as a character in Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell participated in the Drama and Music Club of Shrine Catholic High School. She was cast as Dorothy in the production for high school that was The Wizard of Oz. After graduating, Bell moved to New York City to attend the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts and was a musical theater student. Bell quit the school in 2001 and took on the part of Becky who is a character from Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she made her first credited debut in Pootie Tang (2001), but her scene was cut and her appearance exists only in the credits sequence. Bell appeared alongside Angela Bettis, Liam Neeson as well as in the Broadway show The Crucible in 2002.
